Commercial & Logistics Manager – Kingston

The incumbent is responsible for leading the organization in the development of strategic plans for the organization. In carrying out this function the incumbent must be familiar with the industry and have knowledge of industry events, activities, trends and players. The incumbent must also be able to analyze and learn new ideas through study of the global markets.

The position requires that the incumbent creating new business opportunities for our client.

TheCommercial & Logistics Manager leads in the design, development and implementation of product and service lines which will allow the organization to compete as a world class provider of shipping and logistics services. He/ She provides added business leadership to the overall organization and management team. The incumbent directly supervises the work of six (6)management/professional employees; Operations Manager – Warehouse, Logistics, Customer Service and indirectly supervises other employees through subordinate managers/supervisors.

General Functions:

Provision of strategic leadership and direction to the selection, management and performance of the company’s commercial services and products, managing the relationships and negotiating with senior executives of various constituents nationally and internationally.

 Oversee the preparation and presentation of proposals for services to promote new business and development of the terminal and logistics operations. Key components being the undertaking of comprehensive market research, financial analysis and the preparation and presentation of high quality proposals.

 Development and implementation of commercial/retail plans and promotional programs for the facility, determining the appropriate mix and space utilization.

 Review and validate corporate aims and macro-economic developments, defining strategies, policies and action plans to appropriately address them

 Provides leadership in the development of the commercial business and joint ventures, affiliations and partnership agreements.

 Monitors changes in industry and keeps abreast of actions of competitors and potential new entrants so that Company can plan accordingly to protect its business

 Provides leadership in the development of the company’s Strategic Plan including identifying major future initiatives for business growth.

 Provides leadership for the design, development and implementation of product and service lines.

 Perform any other duties that may be required from time to time by the Chief Executive Officer.

Qualifications & Requirements:

MBA qualification in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of experience andeducation from which comparable knowledge and abilities were acquired;

A background in commercial business preferably working for a “Blue chip”organization is desired with experience in identifying business planning, market opportunities analysis and brand management.

 15 years plus management experience
