Main Purpose of Job
The Payroll Officer position is accountable for collecting timekeeping information, incorporating a variety of deductions into a periodic payroll, and issuing pay and pay related information to employees.
Qualification & Experience
- Minimum of five CSEC subject including Mathematics;
- Previous experience in a payroll department;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Knowledge & Skills Required
- Ability to meet tight deadlines;
- Good math and communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Previous experience in a payroll department;
- Strong Organizational skills;
- Team player.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
- Collecting and verifying payroll source information;
- Entering employee information and payroll data into the payroll system;
- Answering employee’s questions and concerns regarding payroll;
- Calculating payable hours, taxes and deductions;
- Issuing statements detailing earnings and deductions;
- Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies;
- Maintaining and updating payroll records;
- Preparing periodic payroll reports;
- Enter payroll journals.
